Choosing a Stick

The stick should be well balanced and should feel good in your hands. The weight in head should still allow you to have maximum stick speed when maneuvering and hitting the ball.

Reinforcing Materials

Fibreglass
The basic material reinforcing the handle. It adds strength and durability.

Carbon or Graphite
These add stiffness to the handle. The more experienced player can take advantage of the increased hitting power without it having an adverse effect on their receiving skills.

Kevlar or Aramide
These add strength to the handle, while also dampening the vibration. The added flexibility allows for more control and feel when hitting or receiving.

Dyneema
This adds stiffness while at the same time elasticity. Similar to a glass fiber carrbon reinforcement but due to the nature of this material it provides the stiffest reinforcement material.

Dimensions

Shorti
A one piece head which is the most widely used by players.

Midi
A multi-laminated or one piece head that hooks up. Extra surface for receiving and for increased ball control.
